3 Haiti Trip: A story from Grand Goave

Hello explorers,

I receive good comments and I thank you, you encourage me. For those who do not know, you can give feedback or ask questions by going to the bottom of this blog, below the Facebook icons etc. this way you can read the comments or write one. Some of you have send them to me by email, which makes me happy, but it is unfortunate that the people who read the blog do not see your interesting comments, so where the Spirit of God reigns freedom likewise therefore continue to write to me as you wish.

We pursue our journey in Haiti going north towards the location of the little solitary icon. (Starting from the four icons at the bottom, go to the right and hop! little solitary icon).

We are in Grand Gouave. A beautiful story is connected to this evangelical Christian organization. Many years ago, a Haitian family sold one of their boys as a slave. When this boy was twelve, his older brother came to visit him to see how he was doing. When he saw the misery and exploitation that was done to him, he decided to have him escape and was succeeful. In short, the little one found himself in Canada adopted in a family. In Canada, he accepted Jesus, went to study in the United States, married, and returned to Haiti with a desire to work to help his people. He undertook to make a school and a trade school to teach them how to use their hand. This is the ministry we visited in Grand-Gouave and many Canadians work there. There is also a medical clinic, a guest-house and a small house which is at our disposal if we wish to settle with them. This man has seen the same problem that the Lord has shown us, and the trade school is already operating, however there is a great lack of resources in the teachers of some trades, but everything is in place, everything has been prepared, garage, carpentry, electricity, computers, sewing machines etc. We are welcome, and they are open to hearing our comments, suggestions and receiving contacts to receive the human resources available and what we can bring them with the wisdom of God. Believe me, it is not the ideas that are missing, and this is where we must pay attention, the Lord must always remain in the spiritual equation because we often tend to withdraw Him, but by continuing to pray, we can remain vigilant, listen to the Spirit and to ensure that it is His work and not ours. “Stop and know that I am God !!!!”, as written in the Bible, thought I do not know where. If you know, write a comment below for those who would like to have it, thanks in advance.

It is therefore with this organization and with this man that we have established a contact, and with the character of my previous story, so the paths are drawn so that they can work together eventually. (see Haiti trip: On the mountain). Hey yes! help from another Haitian, isn’t that a good start!!! and in addition they are evangelical Christians. We want to bring people together who want to see a change and who believe that the Lord wants to respond, to give them help and hope that are attributes of our God, develop their potential, teach the little ones and the young people to stand with the Almighty for their country and to make them walk in His paths, here is the heart of More for Haiti, it is not us or our ministry that makes the difference, It is the Lord who makes us rebuild on old ruins. Join the team!!!

To this day, we have created dependents on the White Man. When I listen to young Haitians, they are themselves tired of this situation, they want to rise but they do not know how, or they are crushed under what we think they are. Let us reach out to them so they can rise and walk in the blessing that their God puts before them, to make them discover the gifts that He has given them and to make these gifts fruitful in the work of their hands, which will bring them food and not just a high school diploma not knowing what to do with once finished or worse the pride of the Haitian university degree with which very few find work and continue to vegetate, always not knowing what to do with their hands. Ah! some will say, they are like this, they are like that, we can not change them, etc. etc. Words of death. Is it not the Spirit who convinces and works by the faith of the children of the Almighty for better situations and change of hearts? Do we think ourselves capable of doing this miraculous work of changing their thoughts by our strengths, our programs or even worse our ministries, those who think in this way have been turning in circles for several years? When Jesus SAVES is not a half-salvation, it extends to the body, soul, spirit, family, country to start a new life with Him. Our God is not less than that. We must believe it, not by a feeling, nor by will, but because He speaks clearly as only He knows how to do so to those who have this country at heart, and He confirms by his Word, then through other brothers and sisters from Quebec and in Haiti, who share with me what the Lord is showing them in prayer for Haiti and that without knowing that He has already spoken to me about the same things, while alone in my living room even before I went to this country for the first time.

I expect for Haiti new and great things. Many have left, many will return to the pearl of the Antilles which has been stolen by the enemy and it is they, Haitians, who will fight the good fight of faith to retake their territory and we will be there to support them and to shoulder them in the Lord’s will and in prayer. There are Haitians from Quebec who are wholeheartedly with us and who want to keep in touch so that we can go and see their ministry there, others who have a call from the Lord and want to go back to their country to accomplish His will, and the Haitians we met in Montreal who have already begun to do a good work in Haiti with a community of mostly children abandoned to themselves on a small island, are not these treasures of God of which we are responsible for!!! It is to these little ones that the good news will be brought, the good incorruptible seed, the life, the deliverance, the salvation, Jesus.

I dream big; I would love to hear one day a president of Haiti sharing his story saying: I was very young and I would run completely naked on an island, my mother being a child herself and one day a man from my country came and ……… Jesus.

I read precisely today in Psalm 10.24, a psalm which I’m meditating on these days,

What the wicked dreads is what happens to him but what the righteous desires will be granted to him.

The promises of the Lord are for those who appropriate them by faith and not those who let them sleep in the book, if it’s faith we lack, ask for it, the Lord is good and knows how to give good things.

By faith Lord, I lift up to your throne of grace this promise that you have give us by your Word, that your name and your faithfulness be glorified, thank you for putting your assurance in our hearts, because for it’s for sure that you will accomplish these kinds of marvelous stories because your name continues to be great throughout the centuries and your hand is very powerful.

To Jesus be the glory.
